Iran defeats Bahrain in FIBA Asia U-18 Championship

TEHRAN,Aug.21(MNA)--Iran defeated Bahrain in the 22nd FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship at Buyant-Ukhaa Arena in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. The towering Iran squad beat Bahrain 87:76 in Day 4 of the competition and completed a three-game sweep of Group D in the preliminary round. Iran’s Mohammad Sistani was on top of the score sheet with 26 points and Behnam Yakhchali nailed 17 The Persians have defeated Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines in the competitions. The top three teams from each group will advance to the second round of the championship. The top three teams from the FIBA Asia U-18 Championship will represent FIBA Asia at the 2013 FIBA U-19 World Championship which will be played in Czech Republic from 27 June-7 July 2013.
