Syrian PM to attend NAM summit

TEHRAN,Aug.27(MNA) – Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi is scheduled to participate in the XVI Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which opened in Tehran on Sunday and closes on Friday. In addition, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad arrived in the Iranian capital on Sunday at the head of a delegation. The visit by Syrian officials to Iran is significant because the issue of the Syrian crisis will be discussed by delegates from the NAM member states on the sidelines of the summit.
