Iran favors a Syrian solution to Syrian crisis: Iranian security official

TEHRAN,Aug.27(MNA) – The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said that the Islamic Republic has always called for a national dialogue and a Syrian solution to help resolve the Syrian crisis. SNSC Saeed Jalili made the remarks during a meeting with Syrian National Reconciliation Minister Ali Haydar in Tehran on Sunday. He also highlighted the necessity for an end to violence and provision of arms to the rebels fighting against the Syrian government by certain countries. In addition, Jalili said that new initiatives and the participation of various Syrian groups in a national dialogue are needed to help settle the crisis. The Syrian minister also described Tehran-Damascus relations as strong and exemplary. Elsewhere in his remarks, Haydar said that the Syrian people are seeking to determine their destiny within the framework of democratic solutions and without foreign inference. The Syrian official also met with Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday.
