Iranian Film Week underway in Lithuania

TEHRAN,Aug.27(MNA) -- Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, is currently playing host to the Iranian Film Week, which opened with Mojtaba Raei’s “Birthday of a Butterfly” on Thursday. Organized by the Iranian Visual Media Institute in collaboration with Lithuania’s Skalvija Cinema Center, seven films will be screened during the week, the institute announced in a press release on Sunday. Actor Hamid Farrokhnejad and filmmaker Mohammad-Hadi Karimi attended the event. “Here without Me” directed by Bahram Tavakkoli, “Mr. Yusef” by Ali Rafiei, “In the Name of Father” by Ebrahim Hatamikia, “The Lost Truth” by Mohammad Ahmadi and “Under the Moonlight” by Reza Mirkarimi are in the lineup for the Iranian film festival. “Snow on a Hot Tin Roof” directed by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi is due to close the week on August 31. Iranian Visual Media Institute has so far held eleven film weeks in the Ukraine, Tajikistan, Germany, Denmark, Turkey and several other countries.
