Bangkok water exhibition extends one more day
BANGKOK, September 2 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s Bangkok water exhibition gets a one-day extension on public demand.
Originally ending Sunday, the three-day exhibit at the Bangkok Convention Hall in Central Plaza Lat Phrao continues to draw big crowds, particularly for those interested in royally-initiated water projects.
Also held are displays of the government’s flood plans, as well as public seminars on water management attended by officials from Japan, South Korea and China.
In related matters, a weather notice has been issued for low lying areas in Thailand’s northern Lampang province for possible heavy showers and flash floods this week. An active monsoon trough is said to be lying across the upper Northern and upper Northeastern regions of the country.
Yet, a drought has hit Lampang’s Thoen district, where crops have dried out in farming villages. The locals say they have lodged an official request for artificial rain making. (TNA)
