Mongolian president visits Isfahan

TEHRAN, Sept. 2 (MNA) – Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and his accompanying delegation visited the historic city of Isfahan on Sunday. Elbegdorj who had participated in the 16th Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran travelled to Isfahan to visit the historic sites of the city left by the Mongols. Oljaitu mihrab built by Soltan Mohammad Khodabandeh is one of the monuments left from the Ilkhanids, a Mongol dynasty that ruled in Iran from 1256 to 1353. On Wednesday, Elbegdorj also traveled to the northwestern city of Zanjan to visit the Soltanieh Dome, the mausoleum of Oljaitu in Zanjan.
