Iranian miniaturist Farah Osuli named Damonfar Painting Biennial secretary

TEHRAN,Sept.3(MNA) -- Miniaturist Farah Osuli was selected as the secretary of the Fourth Damonfar Painting Biennial, organizers announced on Sunday. The Damonfar Company is the main organizer of the biennial, which was established in 2006 to introduce gifted young artists. “I am quietly confident that you will take big steps toward promoting Iranian art and providing the necessary environment for the development of young painters,” Damonfar Managing Director Seifollah Puya-Rad wrote in letter to Osuli. Damonfar is the Iranian representative of France’s Pebeo and Canson, and Germany’s Faber-Castell, three companies that manufacture art materials. The festival was held in all fields of the visual arts during its first edition. Afterwards, its organizers decided to hold it biennially with a focus on painting. Osuli was also the secretary of the third edition of the event, which has been organized for artists under 25. In addition, she was a member of the jury during the first edition. The fourth biennial will be held at the gallery of the Mellat Cinema Complex in October.
