EU will review Iran sanctions in case of energy disruption: report

TEHRAN,Sept.6(MNA) – The European Union has no plans to carry out a formal review of its ban on the import of Iranian crude, but Brussels would look again at its measures against Tehran in the event of a continued energy supply disruption, an EU diplomatic source said on Monday, according to Platts, a source of benchmark price assessments in the physical energy markets.
There had been concerns in Brussels that Greece could be the worst affected by the ban as it historically has sourced a high percentage of its crude imports from Iran, and under attractive financial conditions.
Before the sanctions, the EU used to import around 500,000 barrels of oil per day from Iran.
