Soltanieh To Receive NAM Presidency In Vienna

Vienna, Sept 8, IRNA - Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Aency Ali Asghar Soltanieh was to officially receive presidency over the Non-Aligned Movement in Vienna, Austria, later on Friday from his Egyptian counterpart during a ceremony to be held at the IAEA's headquarters here. Soltanieh will replace Khaled Abdelrahamn Abdellatif Shamaa. The NAM presidency was officially handed over to Iran on August 30 by President of Egypt Mohamed Morsi during the movement's 16th summit in the Iranian capital. The 16th Summit of NAM was held in Tehran in three phases of expert meeting (from August 26-27), ministerial meeting (from August 28-29) and the Summit which was held on August 30-31. Grouping over 120 world countries, NAM has announced its support for Iran's peaceful nuclear activities in its final declaration which was issued at the end of the Tehran Summit./end
