No gas leak from blast at ice factory in Thai Northeast
NAKHON RATCHASIMA, September 8 (TNA) - An explosion at an ice factory in Thailand's northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima Province on Friday has caused no gas leak, but four people were injured.
Local officials said that there has been no Ammonia gas leak, as the ice factory uses Freon 12 as its freezing substance instead.
However, the blast injured four people, including two workers and tow residents in nearby areas, and damaged the plant's office building, a frozen storage and four houses in its vicinity.
An official investigation into the cause of the blast by local police has been continuing, but the police who inspected the scene initially assumed that an overheating transformer inside the ice factory, located on Keelaklang Road in the Nakhon Ratchasima Mucipality, should be the cause of the explosion.
