Thai businesses offered incentives for overseas investment
BANGKOK, September 13 (TNA) - The Ministry of Finance plans to implement new financial and tax measures to prompt Thai business operators to invest overseas, in a bid to curb the appreciation of the Thai baht.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong told reporters of the new incentives on Thursday, saying that the measures will include those to avoid tax duplication.
Meanwhile, Somchai Sajjapong, Director-General of the ministry's Fiscal Policy Office, acknowledged that overseas investment of capable business operators, including those of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will help weaken the strong Thai baht. (TNA)
