Official killed in Thailand's main train station

BANGKOK, September 14 (TNA) - An official responsible for switching rail tracks was killed early Friday morning when he slipped onto a track in Bangkok's main Hua Lam Pong Station and was cut in two halves by a train entering a platform. Witnesses said the accident took place at around 3am when the train official, identified as 52-year-old Thong-daeng Yong-thonglang , was switching the ralil tracks but apparently fell down to a track and was run over by the Ubon Ratchatani-Bangkok train, which was approaching the platform 3 and could not immediately stop. Police investigators assumed the case as an accident caused by a self-slippery due to downpours, but the official's body has been sent for forensics to determine the exact cause of his death. (TNA)
