Majority of U.S. citizens opposed to strike on Iran: poll

TEHRAN,Sept.15(MNA) – A new poll conducted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs shows an overwhelming opposition to the idea of attacking Iran among U.S. voters, with 70 percent saying that they are opposed to the idea of a unilateral U.S. attack on Iran, antiwar.com reported on Tuesday. According to the poll, a clear majority of U.S. people support a policy of United Nations sanctions and diplomatic dialogue, Haaretz reported on the same day. Antiwar.com also reported that the poll had showed a declining number of U.S. people considering Iran’s civilian nuclear program as a “threat” to U.S. interests, and solid majorities opposed U.S. involvement in an Iran war authorized by the UN or in joining an Israeli attack on Iran.
