BANGKOK, September 15 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong, who oversees national economic issues, has promised that the Thai government will narrow down social and income gaps for people in the country.
Speaking at a seminar on Thailand’s strategies over the next two decades, organized by the National Social and Economic Advisory Council (NSEAC) at the central government complex in Bangkok on Friday, Kittirat said that the government's policy covers a daily minimum wage hike for foreign workers who contribute to the Thai economy. Besides, Kittirat acknowledged, the Thai government will further improve the efficiency of education and public health personnel.
Meanwhile, Thai former deputy prime minister and foreign minister Surakiat Sathirathai suggested at the same seminar that the Thai government set up a national strategy committee to plan strategies for national economic and social development in the long run, as well as provide people nationwide with equal transport services and widely promote the Sufficiency Economy Principle, advised by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, for the sake of the country's sustainable economic growth.
