Iranian FM to attend four-party meeting on Syria in Egypt

TEHRAN, Sept. 17 (MNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi leaves Tehran for Cairo to take part in the four-party consultation meeting on the Syrian crisis on Monday. Besides Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are also present at the summit along with Egypt as the host of the meeting. It is the first regional meeting on Syria since the crisis began the country in March 2011. In a summit of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation in Mecca last month in which President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran also attended Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi proposed the four-party consultation on the conflict in Syria. The four countries of Iran, Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia held an expert on the Syrian crisis last week.
