Thai industrial estates launch drills to prepare for floods

BANGKOK, September 18 (TNA) - The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) will hold drills with private industrial estates to prepare for the floods on September 26-28. IEAT Governor Veerapong Chaiperm told reporters Tuesday that private industrial estates that will participate in drills in preparation for emergency situations, and to cope with the current flood include Saharat Rattana Nakorn Industrial Estate, Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate, and Hi-tech Industrial Estate. Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary-General of the Industry Ministry Witoon Simachokedee would be overseeing the drills of Rojana Industrial Estate and Nawa Nakorn Industrial Estate, in which he has ordered the Department of Industrial Factory to launch drills in preparation for emergency situations like those planned by the IEAT. The senior official stressed that he would also be setting up all the details in preparation for emergencies, which include, the appropriate water level and procedures in shutting off the factories.
