AOT confident Don Mueang safe from flood

BANGKOK, September 19 (TNA) - The Airports of Thailand (AOT) is confident that the Don Mueang Airport will not be flooded again this year. AOT President Anirut Thanomkulbutra told reporters Wednesday that the AOT and the Air Force are building 3.85-meter-high floodwalls around the Don Mueang airport and the adjacent Air Force headquarters and the construction should be completed at the end of this month. Besides, the AOT has improved the airport’s water pumps that are now capable of draining water at the rate of 1 million cubic meters per day. A pond in the airport compound has been dredged and can now hold up to 1 million cubic meters of water, Anirut said. (TNA)
