Thai troops give hands to flood victims

BANGKOK, September 20 (TNA) - Thai troops have been deployed in all flood-hit areas to assist affected people, particularly those in heavily-inundated northern and central zones. Thai Defence Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukampol Suwanathat told reporter on Thursday that he has assigned military personnel from the First and Third Army Area Commands to give their hands to flood victims in northern and central areas under their jurisdiction. According to the defence minister, his ministry has also set up flood operational centres in all the inundated areas and will assign the Second Army Area Command, which are in charge of now flood-receding areas, to send additional soldiers to help battle more critical inundations in the northern and central Thai regions, instead.
