Iranian FM meets Syrian foreign minister

TEHRAN,Sept.20(MNA)--Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi held talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem in Damascus on Wednesday. Salehi stated that Iran is ready to enhance its cooperation with Syria to help alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Muallem noted that the enemies have been dispatching extremist forces and weaponry to Syria with the aim of killing the people, creating insecurity, and destroying the country’s infrastructure, and disrupting the people’s lives. The Iranian and Syrian foreign ministers expressed hope that Lakhdar Brahimi, the new UN-Arab League joint special envoy on Syria, would be able to carry out his mission successfully.
