Car Free Day in Thailand

BANGKOK, September 23 (TNA) - September 23 marks the ‘World Car Free Day,’ as growing concerns of global warming and dwindling energy sources have prompted more and more people to join in conserving energy. In Bangkok, tens of thousands of people joined a bike rally starting from Dusit Palace in the city centre, passing Rajdamnoen Avenue, Sri Ayutthaya and Rama IV roads. This year’s event is held under the slogan ‘Join in the Journey throughout Thailand in bid to Reduce Global Warming.’ Similar rallies were also held in Nakhon Sawan and Lampang provinces, where thousands of bikers toured the city streets.
