Isfahan children’s filmfest to honor Kermati, Ghukasyan

TEHRAN,Sept.29(MNA) -- Organizers of the International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults plan to honor actor/director Masud Kermati and film critic Zaven Ghukasyan with lifetime achievement awards during the 26th edition of the event, which will take place in Isfahan from October 8 to 12. Filmmakers from 40 countries will take part in the festival, the executive director Mojtaba Shahidi mentioned during a press conference on Thursday. The festival will screen about 200 movies in the national and international sections, he added. Several theaters in Isfahan including Farshchian, Qods, Sahel, Sepahan and Honar will screen the festival’s movies, he said. He announced that 60 children jurors have been selected from 300 volunteers to judge the festival’s films. Other cities of Isfahan province including Kashan, Shahinshahr and Shahreza will also host some sections of the festival, Shahidi remarked. The festival also dedicates a special section to review animated films by Croatian directors. The collection includes “Cat” directed by Goran Stojnic, “In Chains” by Daniel Suljic, “Little Man Dreamsy” by Ivana Guljasevic and “Of Boogers and Men” by Darko Vucenik.
