Bangkok to base low-cost airlines at Don Mueang Airport

BANGKOK, September 30 (TNA) - Starting Monday, all low-cost carriers operating in Thailand will be based at Don Mueang Airport to take the traffic burden off Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Thai AirAsia, Thailand’s biggest low-cost operator, will become the first to have a flight take-off from Don Mueang Airport on October 1. President of Aeronautical Radio Thailand (AEROTHAI) Squadron Leader Prajak Sajjasophon says his agency is ready for the switch-over, which may double the number of commercial flights operating at Don Mueang airport from 250 a day to as much as 400 a day.
