Indian school in Tehran observes International Day of Non-Violence

TEHRAN, Oct.3(MNA) — The Indian school in Tehran celebrated the International Day of Non-Violence on Tuesday, October 2, the birth date of Mahatma Gandhi. The ceremony was observed by a large number of people including students. Embassy of Indian School principal Jughal Kishore paid a glowing tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and said, “I feel elated and privileged to extend warm welcome to you all. We have assembled here to mark the celebration of the International Day of Non-Violence which is being celebrated today throughout the world.” “You would agree that violence basically dwells in the minds. Wars also begin,” Kishore noted. He also said, “Present day scenario in the world is really pathetic and gloomy. Switch open any news channel you will see deaths, strikes, mass protests and killings.” He also quoted Mahatma Gandhi who, while addressing a group of students, said: “No man can live without religion.”
