Russian minister sees marked increase in Tehran-Moscow cultural ties
TEHRAN,Oct.3(MNA) -- Cultural relations between Tehran and Moscow have shown a steady increase over the past few years, Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky said in a message sent to the Iranian Cultural Week, which opened in Moscow on Monday.
Medinsky called the event a good opportunity for Russians to become more familiar with rich Persian art and culture.
Culture is the best means for friendship between the nations, said Medinsky, adding that Iran and Russia have a long way to go but the two countries can deepen their relations through promoting culture and traditions.
Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini at the head of a delegation arrived in Moscow on Monday to attend the opening ceremony of the Iranian Cultural Week.
Hosseini plans to visit some Russian cultural officials as well as cultural and historical monuments during his 4-day sojourn in the country.
A large number of art shows, concerts and film screenings have been arranged for this week in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
In addition, a collection of the latest calligraphic paintings by Jalil Rasuli has been put on display during the week.
“Alzheimer’s” directed by Ahmadreza Motamedi, “The Maritime Silk Road” by Mohammadreza Bozorgnia, “Here without Me” by Bahram Tavakkoli, “Days of Life” by Parviz Sheikhtadi and “The Kingdom of Solomon” by Shahriar Bahrani, all of which have been dubbed into Russian, will also be screened during the event.
