Laos to export organic coffee next year
(KPL) – Laos is expected to export organic coffee to the European Union, the United States and Japan next year to meet increasingly growing demands for this kind of coffee in the markets, said the country’s Association of Coffee Producers.
Laos plans to export 20 tonnes of organic coffee in 2009 with total value of 30 million USD and its coffee export volume will increase gradually in the ensuing years, the Association said.
Organic coffee is widely grown in Paksong district, Champasac province. The local coffee is known as a high-quality coffee benefiting for human health.
