Laos sets to welcome 2.1 million tourist arrivals
(KPL) – Laos has set a target of welcoming 2.1 million tourist arrivals in the fiscal year of 2008-2009.
In the 2007-2008 fiscal year, the country’s tourism sector obtained a record growth rate of 34 percent and received 1.8 million tourists.
Most of tourists came from ASEAN with 1.3 million people and the remaining from China and Japan.
Tourism is one of Laos’ economic spearheads which attracts foreign and domestic tourists by stable political environment and wonderful natural landscapes.
