New THAI President takes office

BANGKOK, October 9 (TNA) - New President of Thai Airways International (THAI) Dr. Sorachak Kasemsuwan took his new office at the national airline's headquarters in Bangkok Tuesday morning. After worshiping the sanctity, Dr. Sorachak held a meeting with executives of the national flag carrier to brief them on his policies and performance guidelines. The new THAI President then attended a ceremony during which he was handed over the THAI top job from acting THAI president Chokchai Panyayong. Dr. Sorachak, who is a former president of the state-run Mass Communication Organization of Thailand, now MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), and a former MCOT board chair, is the 16th THAI President, replacing Piyasvas Amranand, whose contract for the national airline's top post was terminated in May 2012.
