Exports of Iranian processing industries projected to hit $340m

TEHRAN,Oct.10(MNA) - The exports of processed goods from Iran is projected to hit $340 million in the current Iranian calendar year, which ends on March 20, 2013, the Mehr News Agency quoted an official with the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad as saying. Alireza Pourbasir added that the value of exported goods stood at $265 million last year. Some 240 processing industrial units will be renovated and revamped this year with allocating 828 billion rials (some $68 million). Some 8 trillion rials ($590 million) will be also invested to establish new processing units, which will create over 16,000 jobs, he noted. Last year, 3.5 trillion rials (some $290 million) was invested to create 5600 jobs in this sector, he noted. Iran exported $43.7 billion worth of non-oil goods last year and imported $61.8 billion worth of goods, to hit the unprecedented mark of $105 billion in annual trade.
