Iran beaten by Japan in Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN,Oct.14(MNA)--Iran lost to defending champion Japan in straight sets (25-9, 25-13, 25-10) on Saturday in day two of the 9th Asian Youth Girls’ Championship at the Shuangliu Sports Center. Japan had defeated India in the first day of the competition and Iran cruised past Australia in three sets. Iran is to play India in Pool B on Sunday and the 2010 titleholder Japan will play Australia in preliminary round. A total of 13 teams have been divided into three pools of three and one pool of four teams. The 2012 Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship is underway in Chengdu, China from October 12 to 20.
