Zurich gallery to hang works by Iranian artist
TEHRAN,Oct.15(MNA) -- The AB Gallery in Zurich, Switzerland, is scheduled to showcase works by Iranian artist Fereydun Ave in a month-long exhibition, which will open on October 17.
Entitled “Flowers and Divas”, the exhibit will put on display collections of his collages, assemblages, and silk screens.
Ave’s figurative and abstract artworks are based on nature studies, the organizer said on the AB Gallery website.
The idea of “divas” is based on the seven guardian angels of Persian mythology from a modern point of view.
Artworks by Ave, 67, have previously been exhibited in world’s major institutions including the Barbican Art Gallery, the Casa Asia Barcelona, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the Centre Georges Pompidou.
AB Gallery represents contemporary art and current positions from the MENA region, which encompasses the countries of the North Africa and the Middle East. AB stands for “across borders”, and supporting the exchange of art and ideas beyond cultural borders is AB Gallery’s primary aim.
