Regional nations should prevent enemies from sowing discord: Iranian president

TEHRAN,Oct.18(MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the enemies are seeking to create discord and conflict in the region but regional nations should prevent them from doing so through prudence. Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the first summit of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Kuwait on Wednesday. He said that regional problems should be resolved by regional countries without any foreign intervention. “There is no way for nations to resolve the problems and to build a better and more beautiful world other than cooperation,” Ahmadinejad stated. Commenting on the relations between Tehran and Kuwait, Ahmadinejad emphasized the necessity to promote ties in all spheres and said that no power can put obstacle in the way of expanding bilateral relations. In separate meetings on the same day, Ahmadinejad met with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. During another meeting in Kuwait on Tuesday, Ahmadinejad and Emomali Rahmon held talks on various issues, including the ways to enhance ties in all areas. The two sides emphasized the necessity to utilize the great potential to promote cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe.
