Unemployment rate fell 1% in summer: Statistical Center of Iran

TEHRAN,Oct.23(MNA) - Iran’s unemployment rate dropped by about one percent in summer from 12.9 percent in spring, the Mehr News Agency quoted the Statistical Center of Iran director Adel Azar as saying. Due to the expansion of agricultural and building activities in summer, the unemployment rate usually falls in summer each year, he said. Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Minister Abdolreza Sheikholeslami has said that the unemployment rate is planned to be cut to seven percent by the end of the fifth socio-economic development plan (March 2016.)
