Cairo ready to enhance ties with Tehran: Egyptian diplomat

TEHRAN,Oct.24(MNA) - The director of Egypt’s Interests Section in Tehran, Khaled Emara, held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in the Iranian capital on Tuesday.
Emara told Salehi, “I, as the representative of the Egyptian government and people, carry the message of my country’s foreign minister (Mohamed Kamel Amr) in regard to friendship and enhancement of cooperation between the two countries of Iran and Egypt.”
He commented on the two countries’ great potential, and said that there are various grounds for cooperation between Iran and Egypt in the regional and international arenas.
Emara added, “Egypt has always defended Iran’s inalienable right to peaceful nuclear activities, and we are ready for the expansion of ties given the two countries’ potential in economic, political, and commercial fields.”
The Iranian foreign minister stated that Iran is ready to use its achievements in science and technology for the development and progress of Egypt.
He also said that the presence of the director of Egypt’s Interests Section in Tehran has provided a new opportunity for the expansion of ties between the two countries.
