Kazakhstan plans to extend its cooperation with Europe considerably
Astana, 23 October 2008, (Khabar) - At a presentation of the new government program called "The way to Europe", the vice-minister of foreign affairs Kayrat Sarybay reported that Kazakhstan intends to advance to the level of strategic partnership with European countries in political, economic and humanitarian areas.
The document was presented to senior embassy officials working in
Kazakhstan. The vice-minister noted that the state plans to reinforce
collaboration with Europe in different directions. Technology, transport,
power engineering, trade and humanities were pointed out in the program in
particular. As the developers of the program intend, it will allow turnover
to increase with European countries by 10 per cent.
In addition, one of the aims of the program is to create appropriate
conditions for Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the OCSE in 2010. This role
implies the fulfillment of commitments which Kazakhstan took in November
2007 in Madrid.

Kazakhstan:
- It hasn't gone without notice, that further work is going to be done in
the direction of medical service improvements, human resource development
and the liberalization of political life in the country. Specifically, this
is going to be carried out via legislation enhancements concerning the
political parties, the media and elections.
Kayrat Sarybay stressed that Kazakhstan is about to reach all the planned
results which were stated in the program.
