Iranian artists to expose “Words Unveiled” in Geneva

TEHRAN,Nov.6(MNA) -- Four Iranian artists will put their latest works on display in an exhibition entitled “Words Unveiled” in Geneva, Switzerland next week.
Graphic designs, print designs, typography and an installation work created by Alireza Astaneh, Abolfazl Shahi, Habib Farajabadi and Mohammad Bozorgi will be showcased at the exhibit from November 19 to December 16.
Abolfazl Shahi will have an installation work entitled “The Memoirs of Writing” at this exhibit, which will take an abstract approach toward text in pictorial art.
Alireza Astaneh has prepared a collection of typography works entitled “Tehran Taxi” for this show.
The exhibit is a part of Endjavi-Barbé Art Projects series, which is curated by the Iranian art critic Mojgan Endjavi.
The project series was established in 2011 to introduce emerging contemporary Iranian artists to the global community. In recent years, the quality of artistic expression emanating from Iran has captured the imagination and interest of art lovers everywhere.
“The abstract potentialities of writing in contemporary art are disregarded in the Middle East,” Endjavi said in a press release.
Silvia Naef, a professor at the University of Geneva in the Arabic Studies Unit, will be a speaker during the exhibit. Panel discussions will also be held on the sidelines.
