Tranquility will be beneficial to all regional countries: Iranian Majlis speaker

TEHRAN,Nov.7(MNA) – The restoration of peace and tranquility in Syria will be to the benefit of all regional countries, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani told the outgoing Syrian ambassador to Iran during a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday. During the meeting Larijani and Ambassador Hamed Hassan held talks on various issues including Tehran-Damascus ties and the latest developments in the region, particularly in Syria. Larijani emphasized the necessity of promoting peace in Syria and said that the grounds should be prepared for the Syrian people and government to resolve their problems without any foreign intervention. Commenting on Iran-Syria relations, he said that the Majlis strongly supports the promotion of ties in all spheres. Larijani also praised the great efforts of Ambassador Hassan and said that his efforts to promote relations between the two countries were fruitful. Hassan briefed Larijani with the latest developments in his country and said a great conspiracy is being organized against Syria and many countries are seeking to foment unrest in the country. He said that terrorist groups in Syria have committed terrible atrocities by using weapons being sent to the country. Hassan also appreciated the Islamic Republic’s support for the Syrian nation over the past years.
