Iran’s relations with U.S. cannot be restored overnight: Iranian judiciary chief

TEHRAN,Nov.8(MNA) – Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said that relations between Iran and the United States cannot be restored overnight.
“(The resumption of) relations with the United States is not easy, and after all these pressure and crimes against the Iranian people by the United States, such relations are not possible overnight,” Larijani said in reference to some Iranian officials’ talk of restoring ties with the United States.
He also said, “The Americans should not think that they can blackmail our nation through coming to the negotiating table with Iran,” adding, “The U.S. thinking of blackmailing Iran is a complete mistake, and our nation has proved that it has stood firm to realize the sublime ideals of the revolution.”
In addition, he said, “But we think that the United States will have worked to its advantage whenever it decided to prevent further loss, and if it bowed down to the grandeur of the Iranian nation and managed to win the people’s trust, then it will have come to its senses.”
Commenting on the U.S. presidential election, Larijani said four years ago Barack Obama came to the scene with the slogan of change, but in practice, the strictest sanctions were imposed on Iran, so it is natural that the Iranian people will never forget the U.S. hostile actions.
