Indonesia FM Calls For End Of Violence Against Myanmar Muslims

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Foreign Minister of Indonesia Marty Natalegawa stressed the need to halt violence against the Muslims in Myanmar immediately. To put a peaceful end to the ethnic conflicts in Myanmar needs international cooperation as well as assistance of regional countries, especially Muslim nations, said Natalegawa while talking to IRNA. He also said the member states of both Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) can play influential role in resolving the issue. The Islamic Republic of Iran is highly committed to democratic rules, said the Indonesian foreign minister, adding the presence of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the BDF in Indonesia is a proof to the issue./end
