Iran's VP Stresses Need Of Islamic Solidarity Against Zionists' Crimes

Agri, Turkey, Nov 19, IRNA - Iranian Vice President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou underlined on Sunday the necessity of Islamic solidarity among Muslim states against the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza. He made the remarks in a meeting with Turkish Minister of Post and Planning Cevdet Yilmaz on the sidelines of a two-day conference on border trade in Agri. Saeedlou underlined the need for high ranking Iranian and Turkish officials to continue their efforts to further expand ties and expressed hope the two countries' cooperation and relations would continue as before. He said consultations between the two countries' officials will pave the way for further expansion of bilateral ties especially in the fields of economy, trade and transportation. Yilmaz, for his part, underlined the need for broadening of mutual economic cooperation and said Iran and Turkey have enjoyed historical friendly relations which could support their trade relations as well. He expressed his country's readiness to further promote economic ties especially in the field of border trade. Iran and Turkey have decided to establish Sarisou industrial township at border point between Maku in Iran and Gurblagh in Turkey. Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour and representatives of the two countries' state and private sectors, governors and mayors of border cities were among the participants of the conference. Four workshops for expert groups are to be held on issues such as investment and border trade, customs, industry and tourism, culture and sports on the first day of the conference. The first such conference was held in December 2009 in Tehran, the second one in January, 11, 2010 in Van city of Turkey, and the last one in October 2010 in Orumiyeh, the capital city of Iran's West Azarbaijan province./end
