‘Gaza atrocities indicative of Israel’s defeat in the face of resistance’

TEHRAN,Nov.21(MNA) – Ali Saeedlou, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s deputy for international affairs, said Israel’s atrocities against the innocent people in Gaza are evoked by the regime’s defeat in the face of resistance demonstrated by regional nations, including Syria. Saeedlou made the remarks during a meeting with Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Qadri Jamil and Syrian Minister of State for National Reconciliation Ali Haidar in Tehran on Tuesday. Saeedlou said the Zionist regime, which is on the verge of collapse, is seeking to save itself through killing innocent women and children in Palestine. He said Muslims and justice-seeking nations should form a united front against Israel for its brutal acts against Gazans, Saeedlou stated. He added these days the Zionist regime has put “the resistant nation of Palestine” under pressure and if a united Islamic Ummah had been established, the regime would not have dared to kill “our friends”. Saeedlou also described Iran-Syria relations as close and said that at this sensitive juncture, the two countries should make every effort to cement ties in all spheres. During the meeting, Jamil commented on the pressure exerted on Syria by certain Western and Arab countries and said that some countries are making every effort to fan the flames of unrest in Syria through arming the opposition groups. However, the Syrian people and government are seeking to restore peace and tranquility to their country, he added.
