Iranian youth team to compete in world polo championships in Australia

TEHRAN,Nov.28(MNA)--The Iranian water polo youth team will leave Tehran on Wednesday to participate in the FINA World Youth Water Polo Championships.
The competitions will be held in Perth, Australia, for both men and women from December 1 to December 9.
Iran is in Group C along with Greece, Romania, Trinidad and Tobago and Uzbekistan.
“We are ready for the competitions. Iran will participate in the event as the Asian champion and we take advantage of 11 players of the team,” Iran coach Davoud Reza Soltani said.
Iran is scheduled to play Trinidad and Tobago on December 1.
“We have no knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago. But the other teams are strong and we hope that to qualify for the next round as the third team,” he added.
A total of 20 teams, divided into four groups of five teams, will be playing together in the tournament, which will be held at the Challenge Stadium in Perth. First team from each group will qualify for quarterfinals, and 2nd and 3rd teams will advance for round of 16.
