Argentina to propose agenda for talks with Iran over AMIA bombing

TEHRAN,Dec.3(MNA) – Argentina will soon propose an agenda to Iran on talks to settle lawsuits related to the bombing of the Argentine Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) building, which took place on July 18, 1994, authorities said on Saturday, AFP reported. Argentine and Iranian officials conducted preparatory discussions in Switzerland in October on the bombing in Buenos Aires. “In the coming weeks, our country will present an action plan that will be discussed at the next meeting to be held in January,” Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman told reporters at the presidential palace. According to Timerman, the first round achieved “positive results”. The case of the AMIA attack has remained a mystery for 18 years, and no significant information has been provided by the Argentine government on the main cause of the incident and the real culprits. The Argentine government only leveled false allegations against the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran that it could never prove.
