Three Persian Gulf islands are Iran’s military bases: Iranian general

TEHRAN,Dec.18(MNA) – A senior military advisor to the Supreme Leader said on Monday that the three Iranian islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs are the country’s “highly important security and military bases” in the Persian Gulf. Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, also said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking to promote long-lasting security in the region with the cooperation of neighboring countries.”
