The second year of the JENESYS Programme starts

(KPL) 20 Laotian youths will be leaving for the 10 day visit-Japan programme under the Japan East Asia Network of exchange for students and Youths programme or the JENESYS programme.
A “ Mekong A batch” is the first delegation in the second year of the JENESYS, who will have an opportunity to experience home stay, interact with Japanese youths and visit schools as well as historical and cultural sites during their stay in Japanese together with representatives from other four Mekong region countries.
Each group composed of representatives of five different nationals has their own destination for their home stay and field trips. After these they will assemble again in Tokyo to share their experience before coming back to Lao P.D.R.

Destination: Ishikawa, Okinawa, Osaka and TokushimaA sending off party of the JENESYS Programme for the Mekong A Delegation of Lao PDR will be held with cooperation from the Embassy of Japan and the Ministry of Education on October 26th , 2008 (12:00-13:30), Sunday at the Chinese restaurant of Royal Dokmaideng Hotel in Vientiane capital.
Representatives from the Embassy of Japan and the Ministry of Education will deliver speeches at this ceremony.The JENESYS Programme, proposed by the Japanese government at the 2nd East Asia Summit held in Cebu last January 2007, aims to invite approximately 6,000youths every year for five years from East Asia summit (EAS) member countries to Japan to deepen their understanding of the different facets f the Japanese society including politics, diplomacy, economics and culture.
It also aims at laying foundation for solidarity among Asian countries by promoting mutual understanding of the future generation of ASEAN and other EAS member countries.
