Tehran to host Korean film festival

TEHRAN,Dec.24(MNA) -- The Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran will be playing host to a South Korean film festival from December 26 to 29.
“This is the first time South Korea is organizing a film festival in Iran,” the Iranian secretary of the festival Puneh Nedaii said in a press conference at IAF on Sunday.
“We hope it will continue in the future,” she added.
“Barking Dogs Never Bite” by Bong Joon-ho, “A Barefoot Dream” by Kim Tae-gyun and “Secret Sunshine” by Lee Chang-dong are on the lineup for the event.
“We can take this opportunity to boost cultural relations between Iran and South Korea,” said Nedaii, who is also the Good Will Ambassador of South Korea in Iran.
The embassy of South Korea, the main organizer of the event, plans to launch a Persian-English journal entitled “Blue Silk” during the festival. It will cover news and articles about the cultural relations between Iran and South Korea.
During the ceremony, the First Secretary of the South Korea Embassy Kim Jung-sik expressed his thanks to Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the IAF for their collaboration in organizing the festival.
