Narcotics Board Chief to contest in Bangkok Governor Election

BANGKOK, January 13 (TNA) - The ruling Pheu Thai Party has decided to field Police General Pongsapas Pongcharoen, Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), in the upcoming Bangkok governor election. The Pheu Thai party said it would introduce Police General Pongsapas during Tuesday’s meeting of the party’s administrative committee, the same day in which Police General Pongsapas would apply as a member of the party. Meanwhile, outgoing Bangkok Governor Mom Rajawongse Sukhumbhand Paribatra has been nominated by the opposition Democrat Party to contest for a second term in the coming gubernatorial election. (TNA)
