Pak Leader Calls For World Denuclearization Before Pressuring Iran

Islamabad, Jan 19, IRNA -- Provincial chief of Pakistani’s top religious party on Friday said that western powers must destroy their nuclear weapons before putting pressure on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Talking to IRNA Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami Prof Mohammad Ibraheem Khan said that West must respect Iran’s peaceful nuclear right.
Washington and its western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program, while they have never presented any corroborative evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population.
Iran as a NPT member-state stresses its right to fully benefit from its nuclear right and maintains its role as an active member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Non-Proliferation treaty (NPT).
Prof Mohammad Ibraheem Khan expressing his opinion said that US is the only country in the world which has used nuclear weapons. “They have no right to object the nuclear programs of other countries,” he viewed.
He said that West must respect Iran’s nuclear right. The politician was of the opinion that Iran is developing a peaceful nuclear program and has been cooperating with the IAEA in this regards.
Former Senator added that pressure on Iran’s nuclear program is unjustified and in violation of all international laws. “Iran is a peace loving country,” the JI leader said.
He said on one hand US is assisting Zionist Regime to make nuclear bombs but on the other they are concerned about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Jamaat-e-Islami leader went on to say that the world powers including US must announce to destroy their nuclear weapons. “US must quit its arrogant approach towards Iran,” he viewed./end
