Russian Analyst Urges IAEA To Consider Int'l Criteria In Talks With Iran

Moscow, Jan 19, IRNA – A Russian analyst said Saturday that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should consider international criteria during talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Vladimir Zakharov, Director of the Institute of Political Studies of the Black Sea and Caspian region, made the remarks while talking to IRNA.
Referring to the recent talks held between Iran and the IAEA envoys on January 16-17, Zakharov said the agency has been influenced by the western states led by Washington when dealing with important international issues including Tehran's nuclear program.
The IAEA has carried out consecutive inspection of ran's nuclear sites as well as its enrichment activities in the past ten years, said the analyst.
He stressed that there has been no report on Iran's diversion from peaceful nuclear activities.
He further described the recent discussions between representatives of Iran and the IAEA as fruitful in getting the two sides' ideas closer to each other.
Undoubtedly, he added, the future talks will result in some agreements.
The Russian analyst then referred to Iran's regional approach, saying it can guarantee the regional peace and stability./end
