Use Of Nuclear Weapons Should Be Barred: Analyst

Islamabad, Jan 20, IRNA – A senior Pakistani analyst on Saturday said that use of nuclear weapons should be prohibited during wars. Talking to IRNA, Orya Maqbool Jan said that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has rightly issued a decree against nuclear weapons because they can be used for massive killings. Earlier Supreme Leader had issued a fatwa (religious edict) declaring the production, stockpiling, and use of nuclear weapons as haram (prohibited in Islam). Orya Maqbool Jan said that the problem is that the nuclear weapons are made for maintaining deterrence level but they should not be used. The analyst said that US and western countries would not destroy their nuclear weapons because they are using the weapons of mass destruction to threaten other countries. Answering a question he said that Zionist regime is an irresponsible state which has not cared even about women and children. “It has 150 atom bombs and can use them any time,” he warned. Orya Maqbool Jan expressing his views said that Zionist regime has no respect for humanity. To a question he said that US has to quit its policy of double standards otherwise it has to face serious consequences. The intellectual was of the opinion that real problem is that US and its allies are trying to defend the interests of Zionist regime. He said that out of the way protection of Zionist regime is bringing down the image of US in the whole world. The analyst said that Muslim countries must support nuclear program of Iran because it is a peaceful nuclear program. He was of the view that Iran is a strong nation and cannot be defeated. He said that conspiracies by the US and Zionist regime to weaken Iran have been failed. “The strength of Iran is their unity,” he noted.
