Iran Goods Transit Up 13.9%

Tehran, Feb 3, IRNA - Iranˈs transit of goods has been increased by 13.9 percent in the first 10 months of current Iranian year (started March 20, 2012), it was announced here Sunday. Head of Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization said over 9.35 million tons of commodities have been transited via Iran during the said period, adding the figure indicates 13.9 percent increase compared to the corresponding period last year. Shahriar Afandizadeh noted that some 8.63 million tons of commodities were transited via roads and the rest were transited via rail road during the period. He cited construction materials, household appliances, cotton and vehicles as main transited items./end
